As a bit of background, John & I consider ourselves a pretty damn average travel couple, we have no travel planning experience & no real practical skills, just a love for exploring all a country has to offer.
We met in 2020, just one month before the COVID pandemic kicked off. So when England went into lockdown we spent the first phase of our relationship chatting shit on FaceTime & sending each other treats in the post (modern day Romeo & Juliet right?!).
After the various lockdowns & when we were actually allowed to hold hands again (cheeky), we couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to travel the world together now it had opened up again. Those TikTok videos & Insta Reels of dream travel destinations were pulling at our curiosity to the point we made the plunge, quit our jobs & booked a one-way ticket to Thailand in September 2022.
We soon realised all those bouji travel videos are very rarely the reality of these beautiful exotic places but that didn’t mean the experience was any less amazing. Often the unfiltered reality of a place & funny background story to a nice picture is what makes a memory really last.
This is why we set about recording all the details of our trips, the good, the bad & the ugly, for other travelers to read / laugh at.
